Agnes Edmunds Bridal & Formal opened in June of 1971…
with the store’s namesake & her love of bridal & everything wedding. Over time with much determination, hard work & continual love of Brides the shop grew in popularity. It continues on to do so with some of the same traditions as started with Agnes herself.
Even as one of the longest-running businesses in downtown Pottstown PA, we continue to draw people from near & far. “Our service is our reputation“ has always been our motto & will continue to be. We are the hardest working Bridal Shop in the area & have won The Mercury’s Reader Choice Award for Best Bridal Shop for the past 25 consecutive years!
In the Summer of 2015, our current owner’s dream of owning the shop finally came true. Continuing the tradition, the name & reputation of the Agnes Edmunds Bridal Shop has meant more to her than anyone will ever know. She has been passed the torch to continue the shop’s legacy.
As of the Summer of 2021, we have relocated to 241 E. High Street in Pottstown. We are now right next to the Steel River Playhouse.

The owner, Bridget started part-time at Agnes Edmunds at the young age of 19 & has never left. She has a creative eye with a background in Art and Fashion Design. There is no better feeling than helping a bride find “THE DRESS” or putting together all the attire for her special day.
Our seamstress, Fern, is in the shop all the time. Her experience of 50+ years, creative vision, expertise & talents will astound you! Fern is a true gift to the alteration world with a special place in her heart for Brides. There is no job too big or impossible-Fern loves a challenge!
Christine is Bridget’s mom. She is a huge help, many times behind the scenes. She is a seasoned & very talented seamstress with helpful hands & vast knowledge of everything. She’s always willing to give a hand with everything going on in the shop. Thanks, Mom.
Cindy is a huge help to the shop on the weekends. She’s been assisting here for many years now. She has a great knowledge of dresses & a keen eye for style. Cindy is super sweet & has a kind heart. We appreciate her willingness to assist always in many ways.
